The Central Florida Zoo offers a range of wildlife exhibits for all the family to enjoy, the first thing to check out is the Animal Adventure Children’s Zoo. Despite the name this place attracts people of all ages who enjoy spending time around the animals, some of which include: Llama, Zebu, Barbados Sheep and Boer Goats.
Next is the herpetarium, none of the other Orlando Attractions can boast housing Southeast America’s largest collection of venomous and non-venomous reptiles! The herpetarium also houses a selection of some of the 6,000 species of amphibians, each species with it’s own collection of interesting and fun facts!
Of course no Florida Gardens comes without an insect house, and the Massey Services Insect Zoo at these Florida Gardens is amazingly interesting, and slightly skin-crawlingly fascinating, and definitely not to be missed! The fascinating variation between insect species if displayed here, each adapted to their own environment.
The Wayne M. Densch Discovery Centre at Florida Botanical Gardens, featuring an interactive gallery and 2 conference rooms provide everything needed for the many gatherings which take place each year, ranging from Bar Mitzvahs to Weddings, and is something which has bought many people to the Florida Gardens who come back for a less formal visit to the Orlando Attractions.
One thing to remember is that the Sanford area is quite small, and the zoo gets no public funding, so expect a slight difference to the average zoo! The nature walk around the grounds, interspersed by all the different animals isn’t boring, and there are always keepers nearby to answer any questions you might have, or to share some fun facts!
The zoo is located just north or Orlando, at the intersection between interstate 4 and Highway 17-92, near the city of Sanford. The transport links are excellent, although it is slightly further from the Direct Holiday Villas than the majority of Orlando Attractions, the little extra distance is worth it!
